Coating material in powder form is fed into an oxy-fuel combustion flame having temperature around 5000°C. The melted particles are projected using high pressure gas stream on the substrate. On impact at high velocities, around 7000 ft/sec, the particles form a coating of extremely high density and excellent bonding strength.
